I was one of four artist selected by the city of Dallas Visitor and Conventions Bureau to design a "B&G" for a specific area of town. http://www.visitdallas.com/campaigns/big/index.html My design was to be placed in Deep Ellum.http://deepellumtexas.com I collected images associated with the history and culture of the area and worked with the design committee on a solution. The entire process was exciting and educational. The final "B&G" were fabricated at Diesel Displays. http://www.dieseldisplays.com They provided me with 1/2 size patterns of the front and sides of both letters. After I made the art work for each pattern, the images were then scanned and printed to the actual size on vinyl. The vinyl art was then glued to the dense foam letters after they were coated with a protective layer of fiberglass. The facilities at Diesel Displays are incredible. I wish I could spend a month there playing around. It is great to see the finished "B&G" in place. I can't say enough good things about all the wonderful people I worked with on this project.
